Fragile Hearts
$ 850.00 CAD
This grouping of shells was done in a random way. I poured them out onto a surface with no plan other than to empty a small pail that I wanted for a different use. I had borrowed some sea glass that I had added to the pail while I figured out how I wanted use them either alone or as some part of an arrangement either alone or in combination of with the shells. In the end, the spread of shells and sea glass turned out to be the inspiration of this painting. For me, the shells and sea glass are delicate and fragile, and beautiful as they vary in size, shape and colour. The sea glass is a hazy translucence lacking any definite colour, and in a heart shape. This painting is the third in my “Heart” series of paintings. This painting is now up for silent auction at Isaac’s Way. This proceeds from this auction goes to support children’s arts; ie: visual art, music and theatre arts.
